Pros
The built in Rack and Pinion Fence System is an effective and efficient addition to the old models which makes the DEW 7491RS ideal for smooth and accurate cut. It comes with a large rip capacity of 32-1/2” which easily cuts through larger shelving and trimming materials. Its innovative stand and dust collection unit are nice additions which add to portability and dust extraction efficiency.
Cons
For all its performance, it weighs 110 lbs which is not the best thing from a portability point of view.

DEWALT DWE7491RS 10-Inch Jobsite Table Saw Review
We are in an era where technological innovation is driving the world forward. This is no longer the time to wait for a specialist to come and do your work (and pay him a considerable sum for it). You would rather do things yourself with the help of few very useful tools that we all like to keep at our disposal.
You like to keep useful tools such as hammer, tongs, nails, pliers, spring balance, vacuum cleaners, etc at your home as they save time and money. Their initial investment is justified by the value they add in your life – at your workplace or at home.
What Makes the Dewalt DEW7491RS a Winner?
Comes with a marvelous Rack & Pinion Fence System which ensures fast, smooth and accurate adjustments for efficient cut
- Powered by a 32-1/2” Rip capacity, it easily cuts through larger shelving and trim materials
- The powerful 15 Amp motor ensures easy hardwood cutting
- Innovative rolling stand which is designed for easy set up and breakdown with unbeatable stability
- 2 – inch vacuum cleaner compatible dust collection port with efficient dust extraction to keep clean up to a minimum level
- Comes with a 3 year limited manufacturer warranty
The Big Positives
The primary job of a table saw is to provide powerful, accurate and efficient cut and this fulfils all the three functions. There are safety features enabled to ensure that even the non professional and non regular users are able to operate upon the regular jobs.
It is an upgrade to one of the best selling models, the Dewalt 745, and comes across as a more complete version of it.
It has more power and larger fence system than the previous products of this series and it is not too far from the capacity of a cabinet saw. Faster motor and smoother cut than the older models means commands the highest price but it will be money well spent.
The Reasons to not Like It
For starters, this costs around $600 so you need to reach deeper in your pockets to buy this. Given the price you have to pay for this, you would expect a better, sturdier stand that is less wobbly. The issue with ordinary stock blade continues to plague this high end, supposedly improved model as well.
At 110 pounds of weight, this is definitely not the lightest model going around, especially when you have models half its weight that do a good job of normal day to day cutting.
Who All Should Buy This Saw?
The saw seems to have combined powerful cutting and portability which makes it an ideal choice for any application – professional or otherwise. From hobby carpenters to the professionals who need higher rip capacity, this has the ability to address a diverse range of cutting needs.
For your reference, we list out the categories of user who are likely to find it very useful, though the list is not exhaustive.
- Carpenters
- Wood shop owners
- Home improvement enthusiasts
- Cabinet installers
- Deck builders
- Hobby mechanics
- Serious woodworkers
- Small furniture makers
- Hardwood floor installers
- Engineering applications
The Final Verdict
After analyzing a number of technical as well as user contributed reviews, the product is highly recommended to the professionals. If you are a hobbyist carpenter you might want to consider one of the earlier models such as the Dewalt 745 which is about half the weight and is available at Amazon
